Help Us Build a Rainbow Crosswalk in Bowmanville
We need your help to make a crosswalk a symbol of LGBTQ inclusion a reality. Let’s show support to our total community and help bring colour to our streets and town!

Across Canada, cities are embracing the spirit of creating family-friendly and community-oriented municipalities by painting a crosswalk in rainbow colours. This simple, but impactful, adornment represents the support offered to LGBTQ residents and visitors.
The municipality of Clarington has unanimously approved our initiative to paint a rainbow crosswalk here! Council has agreed to cover half of the costs for this inclusive initiative, which we estimate to total $8000 to cover the costs of municipal contractors and paints. With this in mind, we have a $4000 share that we must raise to have the reality of this crosswalk fulfilled.
Bowmanville Rotary Club has provided some seed money toward the cause with a $1000 donation, but we need your help to raise the remaining $3000.
Please look to our Facebook media “A Rainbow Crosswalk For Bowmanville“, or follow #rainbowmanville for more information.
